Curlew cottage is a fully self-contained self-catering Cottage, close to Lowfield farm, which, although no longer a working farm, is in the White Peak area of the National Park and has splendid views over the Dales to the Peaks. Beautiful walking is, quite literally, on the doorstep. The Cottage is a mile from the charming and unspoilt hamlet of Middleton by Youlgreave, one of the most untouched and prettiest villages in Derbyshire, close to Lathkill Dale and the other, much quieter Gratton Dale and Long Dales.
We are in a very and peaceful location, which appeals to those wanting a quiet holiday break, whether walking the Hills and Dales or enjoying a good read away from the hustle and bustle. With this in mind we decided that we would provide accomodation for adults only. Thus the cottage is one bedroomed (with double bed and single bed) but suitable for two people.
(Sorry, no Kids).
Although the cottage is close to the farm, it is nethertheless at the end of a long lane/private drive and at least a quarter of a mile (as the crow flies) from the nearest other farm house. It is well appointed, with full central heating, a spacious bedroom with ,large wardrobe, bathroom with WC etc. and through sitting room ( with colour TV) Dining area and kitchen (still with the original beams). The views from the windows are over many miles of the National Park.
We welcome well behaved dogs to the cottage at no extra charge.
We are about 3 miles from Youlgreave, which has its own butchers, Grocers, Newsagents, a Post Office and a few other shops as well as three pubs, all of which do Bar Meals. If required we can make arrangements for supplies from the village to be ready for you when you arrive, (although the village prices are often a little higher (and selection rather less) than Supermarket prices! If you would like us to arrange this all you have to do is send us your list of requirements to arrive by the Wednesday prior to your visit.
